Doctor

Dr. Robin Knopp

Dr.Knopp is a native of Virginia. He completed his undergraduate education at Virginia Tech and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee. Dr.Knopp's family includes his wife Kathy and 3 children: Allison, Christopher and Mark as well as a house full of pets. Dr.Knopp never stops learning. He makes a point of regularly attending continuing education courses to bring his clients and patients the most up-to-date medicine available.
Dr. Knopp and Kathy have owned and operated Abbey Animal Hospital since 1994, a year after their youngest was born. Besides their children they share their home with a multiple of pets which include: 1 African Grey, 4 dogs, 2 cats and many exotic pets.
Dr. Knopp & Kathy also participate in the YFU foreign exchange student program. They have been participating in this program for since 2000 and so have lots of extra children in Europe.

Management

Kathy Knopp

Kathy has been married to Dr. Knopp Since 1983.
Kathy graduated from University of Maryland with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. She always wanted to be a Veterinarian so being here at Abbey Animal Hospital is the next best thing.
Kathy is currently attending NVCC to obtain her Veterinary Technicians degree. She is looking forward to graduating in June 2009. She is a very busy women having a full time family, full work load, and attending school full time.

Diana

My name is Diana, and I have lived in Virginia most of my life. I've worked here at Abbey Animal Hospital since October 2000. I have 1 male and 1 female fawn pugs named Herbie and Lady. I also have a flame point Himalayan named Spencer. I have 2 sons Ronnie, and Andrew and a step daughter Kalie.

Technician

Amanda LVT

My name is Amanda Moshier and I am a veterinary technician. I have an Associate in Science from TCC and I graduated from Veterinary Technician School at NOVA in Fall 2005. I have been a part of the Abbey family since January 2000 and plan to pitch camp here for a long time. I've always had the desire to be around animals and I have decided to make a career out of it. I have been happily married to my loving husband John since January 1999. We have 2 dogs (Djorna & Delilah), 2 cats (Callie & Milton), a horse, an iguana (Nesta), and oodles of fish. I also have 1 two legged child named Taylor.

Alli

Alli has Been With Abbey Animal Hospital since July 2004
She has 2 dog- toy poodle, Noel Amidala & a terrior mix, Bevo. She also has 2 cats: a korat mix named Stormie and a Bengal named Damon Vader. Although born in Binghampton, NY, she spent most of her life here in Virginia Beach. She is currently attending TCC to further her education.

Melissa

Melissa has been with us since May 2007. She moved here from Northern Virginia. She loves all animals, especially dogs. Her husband and her, married in June 2008, currently own 2 dogs, Naddie (pitbull mix), and Spaz (poodle mix), and a snake, Slimey (albino grey banded king snake). She enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family, or going to the beach. She hopes to be here at Abbey for a long time.

Courtney

Courtney has been with us since March of 2008. She has a 5 year old son named Hayden who occupies her extra time. She also has a Labrador Retriever named Lucas and a cat named Cinnamon. You will also notice her in the back as she is currently attending TCC and Northern Virginia Communtiy College to become a licensed veterinary technician.

Kennel

Vicky

Vicky started working here in December 2007. She has been working with animals for many years and loves it. Around here she is also known as the "Dog Whisperer". She wins the hearts of dogs and cats who have a history of aggressive behavior. She has an 18 year old cat named Mischief, and 4 turtles named Rosa, Pecan, Chester and Simon.

Megan

Megan has been working here since November 2008. She loves animals alot. She has 6 animals and 2 kids (Quite a zoo). She has 2 dogs, Eve (a 1.5 year old pitbull) & Bear (a 10.5 year old lab/chow mix). She also has 3 cats, Hurcules, Mischief & Mr. Beez (former resident of Abbey Animal Hospital). She enjoys spending time with her 9 yr old son & 6 yr old daughter and husband of 11 years.

Hi! My name is Sharon Allen. I was born and raised in Virginia Beach. I have 2 grown daughters and a dog named Foxie who thinks she runs the house. She is 10 years old. I have been grooming for quite awhile and have worked all over Hampton Roads. I love what I do and enjoy meeting new people and their pets. I look forward to meeting you!

Assistants

Chelsea

Chelsea joined the Abbey Animal Hospital team in April 2008. She comes to us with a bachelors degree in Animal Science from VA Tech, and has previous experience working in large animal veterinary clinics. She currently owns 2 boxers, Logan & Piper, as well as a horse named Puddles.

Chris

Chris currently attends Virginia Tech and starts vet school in the fall. He has had a love for animals his whole life and has always wanted to become a vet. He currently owns a snake, Xena.

Desiree

Desiree comes to us with many years of experience in the vet assistant world. She loves animals and is very knowledgeable about them. She has 2 pitbulls, Zeus & Remy, as well as 3 bengal cats, Hana, Divi, & Kau'i and loves all animals. She has been with us since January 2009
